National candidates kick off campaign season

MANILA, Philippines - Five separate proclamation rallies will be held nationwide as the campaign period for candidates for national positions officially starts on Tuesday.

Vice President Jejomar Binay and Sen. Gregorio Honasan II of the United Nationalist Alliance will launch their presidential and vice presidential bids, respectively, at the Welfareville compound in Mandaluyong City "to be with the Filipino poor."
