Office of the Vice President gets lowest rating in bizmen survey

MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Vice President (OVP) placed at the bottom of the most trusted government agency list of the country’s leading business executives.

The second quarter Executive Outlook Survey conducted by the Makati Business Club (MBC) showed that Vice President Jejomar Binay's office ranked 64th with a net score of -76.3

Aside from the OVP, 23 other agencies received negative net satisfaction ratings.

The OVP, Department of Transportation and Communications (-61.9), Bureau of Customs (-55.6), Department of Agriculture (-46.7) and the Energy Regulatory Commission (-42.4) are at the bottom five.

The Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process, OVP and the Department of Health are among the offices that experience the largest drops in net satisfaction rate.

"Thirty-eight out of the 64 government agencies and offices included in the survey, likewise, received positive net satisfaction ratings, with 31 agencies improving on their rankings from 2014," the report of the MBC said.

Meanwhile, the Senate (+26), House of Representatives (+13), Department of Trade and Industry (+11), Board of Investments (+11),  Office of the Ombudsman (+11) and Department of Budget and Management (+11) turned out as the most improved agencies based on their 2014 rankings.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas remained at the top of the said survey with a net score of 90.8

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority, Department of Tourism, Department of Foreign Affairs and Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration are also at the top of the list.

The survey was conducted through fax and online survey among MBC members from July 6 to August 7.
