Lacierda to 'Haring' Binay: Where do you get the gall?

Louis Bacani - Philstar.com

MANILA, Philippines - The word war continues between the spokesmen of President Benigno Aquino III and Vice President Jejomar Binay.

After using gay lingo to criticize the two leaders' State Of the Nation Addresses (SONA), Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda and Joey Salgado are now back at trading barbs over the supposed dictatorship of the Aquino administration and the political and corruption issues hounding Binay.

In a Facebook post on Sunday night, Lacierda hit back at Binay's camp for accusing the administration of being dictatorial and responded to Salgado's statement that the Liberal Party (LP) machinery is "oiled by local political dynasties."

Lacierda maintained that it was Binay who was planning to seek an unlimited term if elected president in 2016.

"Mr. Vice President, lest anyone forget, you were the first to say you want "ONE TO SAWA" or "UNLI POWER" to stay in power forever. And when people sensed your greedy ambition to remain forever as parang HARING BINAY at hindi lang Vice President or President, you reminded LP na walang forever," Lacierda said.

"I honestly don't know where you get the gall to say things that you know na babalik sa inyo," he added.

Lacierda said Binay lacks the credibility to attack the administration since he himself cannot answer the allegations of ill-gotten wealth hurled at him.

"Kung sa tingin nyo na you are being bullied in cyberspace, don't you think it is because wala kayong credibilidad to accuse this government of dictatorship when you want to become Haring Binay forever or to talk about corruption when you cannot even answer the corruption allegations like Hacienda Binay or the Anti-Money Laundering (AMLA ) Report?"

'Walang forever'

Lacierda and the Binay camp have been exchanging heated words following Binay's speech last week that countered Aquino's SONA.

Lacierda first called Binay's speech "charot," gay lingo for "joke," and asked why college students were required to attend the vice president's SONA at the Cavite State University.

In response, Salgado said Lacierda was over-reacting and that there seems to be "undeclared martial law" under the Aquino administration.

Saying "walang forever," Salgado further criticized the Aquino administration's supposed dictatorship, pointing out that the president floated the idea of a term extension last year.

Lacierda again hit back, referencing the suspension of Binay's son over corruption allegations: "Sir, sa totoo lang, talaga naman pong walang forever, dahil for the first time in almost 30 years, hindi Binay ang mayor sa Makati, kahit six months lang."

The Palace official advised Binay and his camp to just answer the allegations against the vice president instead of responding to his statements posted on Facebook.

"Thank you for giving me your attention but seriously sir, you don't have to! You are better off answering the corruption allegations against you instead of my FB post," Lacierda said.
