Passport production returns to normal – DFA
MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said yesterday passport production has normalized.
The DFA earlier encountered technical problems that led to a breakdown in passport production.
It said it will address the delays in passport issuance within the next three to four weeks, adding DFA personnel will work around the clock, including holidays and weekends, to ensure that production backlogs are addressed at the soonest possible time.
The DFA apologized for the delays in passport issuance and the inconvenience that this has caused to Filipinos.
“The department is taking all the necessary steps to ensure that passports are issued on time and appeals to the public for understanding,” the DFA said.
