MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) will conduct the Meteorological Technicians Training Course (MTTC) in August to fill vacant positions in the weather agency.

PAGASA acting administrator Vicente Malano said the MTTC is open to PAGASA employees and personnel of other national meteorological and hydrological services.

The five-month course is also open to applicants who are not more than 35 years old, physically and mentally fit and holder of a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, natural and allied science.

Malano said the applicants must have completed or earned units in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, college physics, chemistry and information technology. They also have to pass the qualifying exam.

Applications shall be submitted at the PAGASA’s Training and Public Information Section located at the Science Garden in Agham Road, Diliman, Quezon City on or before June 20.

Applicants must bring their certified true copy of transcript of records and certificate of civil service eligibility, if any.

The training will commence on Aug. 5.

Malano said they hold the MTTC if there are vacant positions in the agency. The graduates of the training may be hired as weather observers or weather facilities technicians.
