MANILA, Philippines - The story about one missing photo negative changing the life of a man will be seen in the film “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.”

Walter Mitty, who is played by Ben Stiller, is a negatives manager in Life magazine, which is working on their last issue.

But then, as he browses the negatives sent by the popular photojournalist Sean O’Connell (Sean Penn), one negative is missing, which is very crucial for their special issue.

With the challenge from his boss Ted (Adam Scott) and encouragement of his love interest Cheryl (Kristen Wigg), Walter goes on an adventure to get the last piece of the negative.

Traveling by air, swimming the deep seas, mingling with people he never thought he would in real life, Walter finally experiences his greatest dreams whenever he “zones out” and saving everyone’s job.

In an interview with variety.com, Ben Stiller, who also directed the film, said that he can relate to his character all because doing this project is materializing what he always dreamed of.

“But what I love is the freedom you have as a director to tell all different kinds of stories where as an actor, to a certain extent you’re just limited to who you are and what you get cast in. The process is less vulnerable when you’re directing, because you’re supposedly in control,” said Stiller

“The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” will hit cinemas on Jan. 22, 2014.
