BTS marks feat with 2 billion YouTube views for 'Dynamite'

KELOWNA, Canada — The music video for BTS' hit track "Dynamite" has reached two billion views on YouTube, a milestone for a K-pop boy band.
The group's label Big Hit Music confirmed the "Dynamite" music video achieved the feat the morning of September 4, over five years since it was uploaded on August 21, 2020.
Over a hundred other music videos have two billion views on YouTube, but BTS is the first boy band to have an entry reach that mark.
In fact, the next boy band with a music video in contention to hit two billion YouTube views is BTS again for its 2019 song "Boy With Luv."

The most-viewed K-pop music video on the platform remains to be Psy's viral 2012 hit "Gangnam Style," which currently has 5.69 billion views.
Only three other music videos have more YouTube views: Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito," Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth's "See You Again," and Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You."
The only other Korean act with at least two billion YouTube views is girl group Blackpink with two entries, "Ddu-Du Ddu-du" and "Kill This Love."
Blackpink's dance performance of "How You Like That" is also nearing that milestone. It looks to be the same for Blackpink member Rose with her collaboration song with Filipino-American singer Bruno Mars titled "APT." — Video from Hybe Labels' YouTube channel
