Will Camille quit career and live in the US after wedding?

Five years after her husband, Anthony Linsangan, died in 2011, Camille Prats is marrying again, this time to US-based businessman VJ Yambao whom Camille has known since they were in Grade Three. They reconnected in 2012.

The question is: Will Camille quit her career and settle down with VJ in the US?

“I am ready,” Camille, 31, admitted during a bridal shower last week at the Marco Polo Ortigas Manila in Pasig City, organized by her family and friends, with Goody Hair Products as co-host. “I’m not afraid of change; it’s something that I actually look forward to. Parang feeling ko kasi, if it’s going to be us, at feeling ko naman na magwo-work, maybe I’d consider it. I never said, ‘Ayoko talaga.’ Somehow, I’m excited about the idea that if we do live in the US, it’s going to be an entirely new world for me. My life here is different, masarap talaga, and life in the US will be normal since I’ve always lived in the limelight.”

Camille and VJ’s first plan is for VJ to move back to the Philippines but…and that’s the Big But…their option is to live here first.

“I’ve become used to leading a very public life here,” added Camille. “Like when I go out, people recognize me and I just have to always smile and be accommodating kasi it’s part of who I am. I must confess that I’m curious about how life in the US is like, so living there really crosses my mind.”

The sweethearts are getting married in Catholic rites in January 2017 when Camille’s son Nathan (by Anthony) turns nine years old. It will be a quiet affair with only family members and close friends invited (a maximum of 300 guests), to be officiated by Fr. Armand Tangi (a family friend for 20 years), at the Nayomi Sanctuary Resort in Balete, Batangas. Camille will wear a gown by Patricia Santos and VJ a suit by Carina Canlas. The venue will be “styled” by Gideon Hermosa.

“Nathan will be an important part of the wedding,” said Camille. (VJ is close to Nathan whom he treats like his own son.)

The princess-themed bridal shower was hosted by Camille’s sister-in-law Isabel Oli (wife of John Prats) and Camille’s good friend Sherilyn Reyes who were also hosts of the event. Aside from Camille’s mom Alma and Camille’s sisters, also present were Yayo Aguila, Nikki Valdez, Pauleen Luna, and Rochelle Pangilinan and Kaye Abad who are set to march down the aisle (Rochelle to boyfriend Arthur Solinap and Kaye to Paul Jake Castillo).

Camille revealed that she already has a ring but she and VJ are still shopping for VJ’s ring.

January will be chilly and Camille said that the venue is perfect for the wedding.

“Medyo malamig na,” shared Camille, “so I cannot wear ‘explosive’ colors, only blush and grey because they are neutral colors,” adding that VJ, who arrived a few days ago, is very much a part of the wedding preparations. “I left other important details for him to attend to.”

She won’t be a “bridezilla,” assured Camille.

“I’m very easy to work with. I just want our wedding to be simple and for everybody to enjoy it. We are inviting only those I am close to. It’s nothing big, nothing fancy. I just want it to be personal, the kind of wedding that I will enjoy with everybody’s company.“

They will spend their honeymoon in Europe, their dream destination.

After the honeymoon, the newlyweds will decide where they will settle down --- here or there?

Rufa Mae and Karel are also altar-bound

MANILA, Philippines - Also set to exchange ‘I do’s’ with their beloved are Rufa Mae Quinto with Fil-Am boyfriend Trevor Magallanes on Nov. 25. The couple will be brand-new parents not long after the wedding since Rufa Mae is already heavy with their first child.
