MANILA, Philippines — Vice Ganda and Regine Velasquez brought laughter and criticism with their own interpretation of the popular "Jet 2 Holiday" meme.
On the first day of their two-night "Superdivas" concert last Friday, Vice and Regine did a spin on the popular meme, which many online users interpreted as referencing the political tension in the West Philippine Sea and former President Rodrigo Duterte's incarceration at The Hague, Netherlands.

Regine began the set by singing the popular line "Darling hold my hand" as Vice ramped on the stage with backup dancers holding a tarpaulin that said "Jetski holiday."

"Huwag niyo akong subukan, mga pu****i** niyo," Vice ended his spiel, which some online users believe imitates Duterte's style of expletive-laden speech.
The jet ski reference is believed to stem from Duterte's 2016 campaign promise that he would raise the Philippine flag on the contested Spratly Islands. He later said in 2021 that it was a joke, calling those who believed it as "stupid."
The clip went viral on social media, infuriating diehard Duterte supporters.
