Philippines stumbles, still makes it to Miss Grand International top 10 most popular
MANILA, Philippines — Miss Philippines Grand International 2018 Eva Psychee Patalinjug showed grace under pressure after she stumbled but recovered during the recent Miss Grand International preliminaries in Myanmar.
On her Instagram account, Eva posted a video clip of the incident at the Long Gown competition, where she was wearing the gold beaded gown by fashion designer Royer Wintizon.
“’Our greatest glory in life is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.’ Tonight, my heart is filled with joy knowing that my entire country stood up with me when I fell at the @missgrandinternational stage,” she wrote.
“I hope that I have shown courage, strength and the essence of rising from every stumble in life. Laban mahal kong Pilipinas!” she added.
Despite the mishap, Eva has so far made it to the sixth place of the competition’s Miss Popular Vote.
A registered nurse and an aspiring lawyer who dreams of becoming a Philippine president, Eva is gunning to be the first Filipina to win the prestigious crown on October 25.
She has been recently named as Philippine peace ambassador by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process.
