MACAU — One of the biggest musical gatherings of Asian stars is being held at the Asia League Fest, a standalone musical performance of The Asia League tournament where 12 elite teams from various Asian basketball associations are facing off.

But the Asia League is not just a normal basketball tournament as it promises to bring together sports and music into one explosive event; featuring the best of Asian talent, with the event’s biggest main act, Minzy from South Korea.

When news broke out that K-pop group 2NE1 was breaking apart back in 2016, the K-pop fandom was devastated as they knew it was the end of an era, and the last time fans will be seeing the four girls perform together.

But it did not exactly end in a heartbreaking story as each girl are now focusing on their own craft, starting all over again, and this time to showcase more of their own personality. This is exactly the kind of direction that Minzy is heading to now, doing her own music.

In fact, the moment she released her album “UNO” the following year after she left her former group, it went straight to top the charts.

This year, with a brand new track called “Walking,” Minzy is ready to show Asia and the rest of the world that she is more than just 2NE1’s main dancer and singer; she is a total package — charisma, talent, personality, and that famous 2NE1 swag that got her to where she is now in the first place.

Here is an exclusive behind-the-scenes from Minzy’s rehearsal where she sang 2NE1’s “Come Back Home.” — Videos by Seph Asong, editing by Kat Leandicho
