Kris Aquino warns Joshua Garcia: Bimby so in love with Julia Barretto
MANILA, Philippines — “Multimedia Queen” Kris Aquino revealed that her youngest son Bimby has feelings for Julia Barretto, her co-star in the upcoming movie “I Love You, Hater.”
During the Monday press conference in ABS-CBN, the former Kapamilya warned Joshua Garcia that her son is just waiting for him to commit another mistake.
“Bimb is so in love with Julia. Joshua, he’s just waiting na may gawin kang mali. He’s waiting in the wings and you know that,” Kris said.
“Sinabi na niya sa akin talaga. ‘In seven years when I’m 18, Ate Julia is still in her 20s.’ Pwede, they can be together,” Kris added, while Bimby was asking her to stop.
The actress also revealed that her youngest son kissed Julia 40 times during the shooting of the movie.
“Nung nagsho-shooting kami, umalis ka na kasi eh (Joshua), umalis na si Joshua para magrehearse. So etong si Bimb kunyari hinahalikan ako dahil moment namin ni Julia na three pages ‘yung script so kunyari kino-comfort ako. Aba, every one kiss sa akin, sa lips ‘yung kay Julia.”
Inspired by JoshLia’s love
Kris was all praises for the daughter of Marjorie Barretto and Dennis Padilla.
“She is just so raw and so real. I just have to say that, I say this without meaning to offend anybody but my son identifies so much with her so kapag may ganun ka, that already means you have a gift. If someone can see himself in you, in your life experiences, that will mean na napakagaling mong artista.”
Kris praised the love team JoshLia, composed of Joshua and Julia, for a job well done in their upcoming movie “I Love You, Hater.” The actress said she is impressed with the acting, hard work and attitude of the two rumored sweethearts.
Kris said Joshua will become one of the greatest actors in the Philippines in due time.
“He is amazing because, one, alam natin he needs to work but two, more than that, the work needs him, kasi talagang he is the real deal. Sinabi ko talaga na, ang tagal ko na ‘di ba, ang dami ko nang nakatrabaho, pero si Joshua Garcia will be here 15 years from now, 20 years from now, he will become one of the greatest actors the Philippines ever had,” the former Kapamilya said.
For Julia, Kris said she likes her hunger for the craft.
“Her hunger, and that is very important, iba ‘yung gutom ka to prove yourself and she has that,” Kris said.
In return, the love team said they are thankful for Kris as she appreciated their hard work and dedication to the industry.
“I’m thankful and grateful because it’s nice to have somebody who can see through you and understands you without having to say a word. Yes it’s nice to be understood and to be appreciated because I know what it’s like to be taken for granted also. It’s so nice to hear it coming from Miss Kris,” Julia said.
“Sobrang thankful po ako kasi isa sa mga matagal na sa industriya ang naka-appreciate ng ginagawa ko. As an actor ang saya din po kasi sa pakiramdam na may nakakaappreciate sa ginagawa mo eh, kasi mas ginaganahan ka, mas nagugutom ka na matuto,” Joshua said.
Directed by Giselle Andres and co-written by Rona Co and Kristine Gabriel, “I Love You, Hater” is a wholesome romantic comedy for the whole family as it tells a story that shows the value of love and dreams, of family and self-worth, and ultimately accepting the love that one deserves.
Besides their performance in the film, Kris thanked JoshLia because their love made her sons give her consent to love again.
“Sabi ko, ‘You are not always gonna be around for mama, so can you allow me please to be able to love?’ Thank you sa inyong dalawa (JoshLia), pumayag sinabi na ‘As long as he takes care of you, mama and as long as he loves you, then it’s okay.’”
According to Kris, Bimby saw how Joshua takes care of Julia, so he also wants to have somebody to do the same for his mom.
“Because nakita niya na si Joshua inaalagaan si Julia, na-realize din niya na dpat may alaga sa mama niya. Love ultimately means you take care of the other person.”
