MANILA, Philippines — The pioneer video jockeys of music channel Myx, including Iya Villania and Heart Evangelista, recently had a small reunion during the Myx Music Awards 2018 at Araneta Coliseum.

Only a day after posting a reunion photo with Myx VJs, on May 17, Heart announced on Instagram that she originally was carrying twins, but the other embryo did not develop well.

During our first ultrasound we were a mixture of excitement and nervous but nothing could prepare us for what we would learn. We found out that I had a TWIN PREGNANCY. My sister has twins but I never imagined that I would be able to have twins as well. Unfortunately one of the embryos was smaller and behind in terms of development and so we lost one of the twins. Our hearts were heavy at the thought but we knew we had to focus on the good. This is the first photo of the twins where you can see the other embryo who is healthy and showing more positive signs of development. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Motherhood this early on it’s that it won’t always be sunshine and butterflies, sometimes there will be cloudy moments. But it’s these ups and downs that I know will make me a stronger Mom. We now have a little angel up there and I trust that God is with us on this beautiful journey. I have to thank my wonderful husband who really has been my partner through it all. There is no one else I would rather do this with...(Some of these things happened weeks ago way before we announced, I’m just sharing this now.)

She noted that some of these things happened weeks ago, way before she announced that she is expecting her firstborn with husband Sen. Chiz Escudero.

In an interview with Philstar.com, Iya said she is happy for Heart’s pregnancy.

“Heart and I were talking about it. I’m just glad that she’s having a smooth pregnancy. Hopefully up in the very end, it’s a smooth pregnancy for her,” Iya told Philstar.com during a Babyflo event where she, husband Drew Arellano and son Primo are the endorsers.

“Naexcite ako para sa kanya. Ang weird lang kaming mga VJs dating kaming mga young ones. Tapos ngayon mga nanay na kami. When we had MYX Music Awards ang concern ko siyempre buntis ako I couldn’t stay up too late. So Primo maaga siya gumigising kaya mas OK kung masasabayan ko siya matulog. Kasi mahirap kapag maaga siyang gumising di ko na siya masasabayan during the day. Iba na ‘yung concerns namin ngayon,” she added.

Iya is set to give birth to her second son, tentatively named Leon, on August. Drew revealed that Iya’s original plan is to have five children, but they cut it down to three after Iya gave birth to Primo.

“Two is a perfect number for now. We will assess after this,” the “24 Oras” host said, adding: “Pero we will assess after this kasi boy uli eh. Pero kung boy uli ang susunod, hanggang don nalang.

When asked why the age gap of Primo, who is now one year and 10 months, and the second baby is so close, the couple said it is because they want to be able to keep up with their kids.

“Para sabay silang lumaki. They can play together. Ang gusto ko din habang sanay ako sa baby, hindi ‘yung pano ulit to. We want to enjoy our kids. We want to be able to keep with them also. We’re not getting any younger,” Iya said.
