2016 Miss Earth is back

MANILA, Philippines - After she was crowned 2016 Miss Earth in October last year, Katherine Espin (photo) of Ecuador returned to the Philippines to continue her work in advocating the preservation and protection of the environment, to address climate change and promote eco-tourism and good health.

Joining Katherine on this journey are the reigning environmental queens 2016 Miss Philippines-Earth and Eco-Tourism. Last week, the eco-warrior beauties visited Isabela where they attended the opening of the Agro-Ecotourism Exhibit, Bambanti Village, selection of 2016 Bambanti Kings and Queens, visited the  Sta. Victoria Green Sanctuary in Ilagan and toured the Eco-Fuel Agro-Industrial Plant in San Mariano. Then, they traveled to Ilocos Sur to celebrate with the Ilocanos their environmental prosperity. Then, they will also conduct the “I Love My Planet Earth” school tours of the Miss Earth Foundation to educate youngsters about the preservation of the environment. On Feb. 21, Katherine and 2016 Miss Philippines Eco-Tourism Melanie Mader will return to Isabela to assist in the province’s medical mission activities. Katherine will leave for her country on March 16.
