Alden captures memories via selfies

Alden Richards as the new product ambassador for the mobile technology brand Oppo

MANILA, Philippines – Here in the self-proclaimed selfie capital of the world, even celebrities like Alden Richards are not immune to the selfie bug.

“Tayong mga Pinoy, we really like taking selfies wherever we go,” affirmed Alden during his launch as product ambassador for Oppo F1s Limited at the Mall of Asia Atrium last Nov. 8.

But more than a call for vanity, Alden believes that selfies are a way of capturing life’s most unforgettable memories spontaneously.

And for Alden, such precious memories include his recent five-day trip to Europe with the AlDub love team partner Maine Mendoza.

“Sobrang relaxing yung five days na yun,” he recalled.

“(I got to) reflect on anything that is happening, thank the Lord for the blessings,” he said of his visit to the Pink Sisters in Germany. Alden and Maine were also spotted watching Lés Miserables in London.

The Kapuso heartthrob, meanwhile, is currently busy in shows Eat, Bulaga! and Sunday PinaSaya, and will next be seen in a cameo role in the Vic Sotto-starrer Enteng Kabisote 10 and the Abangers.

Alden is also looking forward to spending quality time with his family for the holidays, which he said they will spend in the country. Another occasion that the Pambansang Bae is excited for is the opening of his second restaurant in Quezon City.

During the event, Alden serenaded the cheering crowd with his songs Say It Again and Rescue Me from his recent album under GMA Records. He also happily took selfies with some members of the media before proceeding to his contract signing as brand ambassador for the mobile technology brand.
Also present at the event was Gilas Pilipinas coach and TV5 president and CEO Chot Reyes, who expressed gratitude for Oppo’s support for the Philippine Basketball Association.

The F1s smartphone was introduced in the Philippines last August and more than 19,000 units across the country were sold in just three days after its debut.
