MANILA, Philippines - Jake Cuenca admitted that he dreams of winning a best actor award from a local award-giving body.

He has won two best actor awards internationally, both for his 2014 film "Awaken." His first award came from the International Film Festival Manhattan in 2015, and this year at the Brazil Cinema Festival.

Jake won a best supporting actor award at the 28th PMPC Star Awards for the film "In the Name of Love." However, he shared the award with Baron Geisler for the movie "Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story."

"I'd probably cry," he replied when asked how he'd feel winning a best actor award locally, during a press conference on Friday. "I'll be so happy na finally, wow, nabigay na sa akin 'yon."

However, not winning an award yet despite the number of nominations he has received doesn't disheartened him.

It even makes him appreciate more the awards he has received internationally.

"It just motivates me to do more independent movies," he said. "So feeling ko mas marami pa akong ipapakita pa."

Jake is currently busy working on his upcoming TV series "Because You Love Me," a reunion project with Gerald Anderson together with Yen Santos.

He's also doing a movie with Angeline Quinto under Regal Films, and will soon start with another movie with his former "Passion de Amor" co-stars Ejay Falcon and Joseph Marco.
