Luxent Hotel supports tourism industry

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Luxent Hotel empowers the education sector as it signs a partnership with one of the most innovative institutions for a nation-improving project. The stylish hotel from Quezon City has just partnered with the Our Lady of Fatima University’s College of Hospitality and Institutional Management for a Teacher Development Program stint aimed at improving competitiveness in the tourism industry.

The said pilot program is sponsored by the Government of Canada through the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Asian Development Bank. With help from the three agencies, the Teacher Development Program is poised to enhance knowledge and advance the current technical, academic and practical skills of tourism practitioners in the country.

A conference was held at one of VIP function rooms of Luxent Hotel, where the agreement states that two professors will have a two-week training with the hotel. Each professor will be assigned to a different department, guided by the hotel’s hardworking management and highly-performing associates.

“Education is an important factor in creating a vigorous industry. We at Luxent Hotel are eager to join in this endeavour to bolster Philippine Tourism in support of the DOT, The Canadian Government and Asian Development Bank. By allowing use of our facilities, with a hands-on approach to coaching and insight-sharing from our associates,” said Luxent Hotel GM Melanie Pagkalinawan.

The abovementioned professors will take program modules through their assignments at the Front Office & Housekeeping, as well as the Food & Beverage (F&B) and Kitchen.
