Kapuso honored at 2nd Paragala Awards

MANILA, Philippines - A total of 14 awards were accorded to various GMA programs and personalities in the second Paragala Central Luzon Media Awards held recently at the Holy Angel University in Angeles in Pampanga.

Jessica Soho led the list of Kapuso awardees after winning Best News Program Female Anchor for GMA News TV’s flagship newscast State of the Nation with Jessica Soho and Best Magazine Show Host for Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS), which, in turn, was named as Best Magazine Show. Jessica and KMJS were also given the same recognitions last year.

Also winning for the second consecutive year were GMA’s primetime newscast 24 Oras as Best News Program; 24 Oras co-anchor Mike Enriquez as Best News Program Male Anchor; and Mike’s Imbestigador as Best Investigative Program. 

Awarded their second Pagarala citations as well were Arnold Clavio as Best Morning Show Host for Unang Hirit; I-Witness as Best Documentary Program; Bubble Gang as Best Gag Show; and Eugene Domingo as Best Game Show Host for Celebrity Bluff.

Earning the students’ nod this year were Tunay na Buhay as Best Public Affairs Talk Show; Celebrity Bluff as Best Game Show; Pepito Manaloto as Best Sitcom; and Ryzza Mae Dizon as Best Child Performer for her performance in the movie My Little Bossings.

 Launched last year, the Paragala Central Luzon Media Awards was initiated by the Communicators’ League of Holy Angel University in Pampanga in partnership with various academic institutions in Central Luzon. An estimated 30,000 respondents from these institutions participated in the search for the country’s best TV programs and personalities.
