Will Bb. Pilipinas-Intercontinental 2015 Christi McGarry forfeit crown?

MANILA, Philippines – Is Christi McGarry ineligible to join the Miss Intercontinental pageant this year?

 

The 24-year-old beauty queen won the Binivininf Pilipinas-Intercontinental title during the grand coronation night on Sunday.

This makes her the country’s representative to the Miss Intercontinental pageant this year.

 

However, McGarry had previously competed in the Miss Intercontinental pageant in 2010, having won the local Mutya ng Pilipinas-Asia Pacific title that year.

 

In a statement, Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. said it is looking into the issue.

 

“The Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Incorporated is studying the issue about Christi Lynn McGarry who then competed for Miss Intercontinental 2010. We will update everyone should we arrive at anything final.”

 

One possible solution? Switching titles, at least according to netizens and beauty pageant pundits 

 

Beauty pageant blogger and former beauty queen Joyce Ann Burton Titular, in a blog post published in her site Adventures of a Beauty Queen, wrote: “My investigation found out that the obvious solution for now is to switch titles between Christi and Rogelie Catacutan, the Bb Pilipinas Supranational 2015 winner. But of course this has to be studied first by the lawyers of BPCI to make sure that no agreements are breached.”
