A musical (second) reception

MANILA, Philippines - As they did during their wedding on Balesin Island last Feb. 15, Heart Evangelista and Sen. Chiz Escudero reserved two seats for Heart’s parents, Cecile and Reynaldo Evangelista, at the Blue Leaf Filipinas in Aseana City, Parañaque City, for the second reception for friends who were not at the wedding. The parents didn’t show up

But Heart, radiant in a Monique Lhuillier gown, was relieved that her father sent word wishing her and Chiz the best.

The Blue Leaf guests came from showbiz, business and politics.

As the newly-weds wanted it to be, the event was “musical,” done Sunday All-Stars style, with performers Jaya, Regine Velasquez and husband Ogie Alcasid, Kris Lawrence, Aicelle Santos, Julie Ann San Jose, Jonalyn Viray and Gary Valenciano who sang How Did You Know, the same song Mark Bautista sang at the wedding. Tim Yap and Christian Bautista hosted the show directed by Rico Gutierrez. 

Scene-stealer was the huge cake shaped like a chandelier.

The well-heeled guests feasted on Sundried Tomato Pesto Focaccine, assorted appetizers, Angus Beef Tenderloin Medallion and assorted desserts (guilty pleasures!).

The newly-weds will host a third reception in Sorsogon for Chiz’s provincemates. They will spend their honeymoon after Congress ends its session.
