Sharon Cuneta to run as Pasay mayor? Daughter KC speaks up

MANILA, Philippines - Is Sharon Cuneta being encouraged to run for mayor in Pasay City in 2016?
In an interview with reporters last week, Sen. Tito Sotto revealed he is considering about encouraging Sharon Cuneta to run as Pasay City mayor in the upcoming national elections.
Sotto said he believes the actress would make a good mayor for Pasay City. The senator is the husband of Helem Gamboa, whose sister Elaine Cuneta is Sharon’s mother.
During the press conference of ABS-CBN’s Christmas special “Give Love on Christmas” on Monday, Sharon’s daughter KC Concepcion, who seemed surprised upon hearing Tito’s comments, commented on the reports.
“Mayor? Stress siya sa ganoon,” KC told members of the press.
She added, “Parang wala pa kaming pinag-uusapan about that. Siguro if ever, magiging malaking diskusyon yun sa family.”
KC also quipped, “Sige, tatawagan ko siya later,” referring to Sotto.
Sharon is doing well after her mother Elaine passed away last November.
“Pumapayat. Sume-sexy at gumaganda pa rin,” KC said of her mother.
KC herself is also coping well after the death of her grandmother. Apart from their family’s loss, she describes 2014 as a challenging year in terms of her health.

But she also felt inspired after winning three acting awards this year--a best actress award from the PMPC Star Awards for Movies and the FAMAS Awards for her role in “Boy Golden" and a best supporting actress win from the PMPC Star Awards for Television for her role in “Ikaw Lamang.”
“Maganda po yung return. After nung magkasakit ako, may blessing naman na parating,” she said.
“Napaka-eventful ng 2014. Napaka-extreme na high, then extreme na low. Jam-packed, very meaty year,” KC said.
The 29-year-old actress will start the year 2015 with a new ABS-CBN show. She co-stars with Paulo Avelino in ABS-CBN Christmas mini-series “Exchange Gift.”
The show marks the second time KC and Paulo will work together--and the first since they were linked romantically in 2013.
“Timing is everything talaga... Wala naman tayong control sa mga mangyayari. He’s at an age na marami pa siyang pwedeng gawin. Ako rin po. Right now we’re happy na may ginawa kami together (na show), na masaya kami,” KC said on when she and Paulo will take their relationship beyond friendship.
“Exchange Gift,” the third part of the Christmas mini-series “Give Love on Christmas,” premiere Monday, Jan. 5 on ABS-CBN.
