Is Vic not the ‘remarrying’ kind?

Bot Glorioso - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - When it comes to the affairs of his heart, do not expect Vic Sotto, or Bossing to everyone on- and off-cam, to talk much and give away every detail of his love life. He just usually lets out a few lines enough to either satisfy one’s curiosity or tickle the imagination which, more often than not, leads to more questions.

But in a very rare display of openness, Vic became “generous” in sharing details about his love life when the entertainment press steered the topic to his relationship with lady love Pauleen Luna after the presscon for his Metro Manila Filmfest entry My Big Bossing. He seemed ready to admit and clear talks regarding his romance including, of course, marriage plans.

Vic addressed the issue that after My Big Bossing, a big wedding will follow. With a smile on his face, Vic quipped, “The big wedding is that of Dingdong (Dantes) and Marian’s (Rivera, his leading lady in Big Bossing’s Taktak episode), ninong lang ako dun at saka escort ko (pointing to Pauleen). (We will hold) another presscon for that.”

My Big Bossing star Vic Sotto promises to hold another presscon if and when he and girlfriend Pauleen Luna are to announce marriage plans

He, too, brushed off what has been running in the gossip mill that Pauleen’s parents have already given their blessing to the wedding. “Tsismis lang yun (it’s merely a rumor),” he said. “At hindi kayo mahuhuli sa fact if ever.”

Pauleen, on the other hand, confirmed, “Wala pong usapan na ganoon; that’s pure tsismis.” By the way, Pauleen plays a special role in the movie’s Sirena episode.

Vic, too, denied that he is building a house for Pauleen. “That’s not true. They have their own house na siya (Pauleen) at ang kanyang mga magulang ang nagpatayo nun, wala akong kinalaman ‘dun.” And if and when the time comes he will build a house, Vic assured that it’s not just for Pauleen but for the two of them.

Still, curious minds are wondering if Vic will once again exchange “I do’s” in the near future. His marriage to Dina Bonnevie, with whom Vic has two children Danica and Oyo, had been annulled years ago. No one can tell but Vic. However, according to recent talks, Dina is in favor of Pauleen for Vic. Asked to comment on this, Pauleen said, “Well, that’s nice to know; I’m happy because coming from his ex, s’yempre it’s very nice to know.”

Until now, Vic does not understand why people are raring to see them tie the knot pronto. “I really don’t know kung bakit sila naiinip, eh kami nga ‘di naiinip.”

Asked how they’ve managed to make their relationship run smoothly, Vic and Pauleen said that they never allow nasty rumors to affect them.

’Di kami nagpapadala sa sabi-sabi. Whatever we have talked about will remain between the two of us. That’s certainly the reason why the relationship is okay, magaan and no pressure at all,” Vic added.

“He keeps the relationship light,” Pauleen said. “I’m happy with what we have. I don’t think there’s anything  better than being happy. We don’t let negative things get to us. If ever there’s something that bothers us, we talk about it right away, di na namin pinatatagal pa.”

That said, Vic and Pauleen are sure to spend Christmas full of love and happiness, especially now that they will be riding the float together for the first time at the filmfest parade. Vic considered Pauleen as his lucky charm because “in all of the movies I’ve done, she’s always there kahit cameo lang. The movie seems not complete without her.”

Asked how they will celebrate Christmas, Vic shared that they will spend time with their respective families and sounding, uhm, cheesy, he added that being with Pauleen every day   feels like Christmas.

(The Prinsesa episode completes My Big Bossing’s trilogy showing on Dec. 25. The movie, under the production of APT Entertainment, M-Zet TV Production and OctoArts Films, also stars Ryzza Mae Dizon, Alonzo Muhlach, Niño Muhlach, Nikki Gil, Zoren Legaspi, Sef Cadayona, Boboy Garovillo, Ruby Rodriguez, Wally Bayola, Jose Manalo, Chlaui Malayao, Raul Montesa and Nico Antonio. Directors are Marlon Rivera, Bb. Joyce Bernal and Tony Reyes.)
