Will Yvethe score a back-to-back win at Miss Supranational 2014 pageant?

Gerry Diaz - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) recently held a send-off for 2014 Bb. Pilipinas Supranational Yvethe Santiago. The 21-year-old beauty from Daraga, Albay, who stands 5’8”, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She is the eldest of two daughters of Nap and Nida Santiago.

Since Mutya Datul, the reigning Miss Supranational, is from the Philippines, Yvethe has the challenging task of scoring a back-to-back victory for the country. During the presscon, Mutya advised Yvethe to always keep smiling and be nice to everyone.

Yvethe left on Nov. 15 for the Miss Supranational Pageant in Poland. Also in attendance during the send-off was her aunt Nidia Cea who is the twin sister of her mom. In a short chat with Yvethe’s mom Nida, BPCI chair Madame Stella Araneta told her how lucky she is to have a good daughter like Yvethe, because she is one girl who obeys rules.

At the presscon, Madame Stella was asked if she has any plans of hosting an international pageant in the Philippines considering the recent major victories of her Bb. Pilipinas beauties. In response, she revealed that because of the excellent showing of the Philippines in international pageants, she has been receiving offers to host not just one but several beauty tilts. She added that the invitations were not limited to the current pageants that they participate in but also includes others that they are not currently affiliated with. That was enough to create excitement among the pageant fans and members of the press who were present at the presscon.
