Inmate Herbert C. wins PMPC award

MANILA, Philippines - ‘I can’t believe it!’ exclaimed Herbert C. (photo) when he was named Best New Male Recording Artist of the Year at the recent Star Awards for Music by the PMPC (Philippine Movie Press Club) for his album Herbert C. — Kinabukasan.

The album, containing five songs and released by Ivory Music & Video, was written at the National Penitentiary where Herbert is serving term at the Maximum Security Compound.

‘Thank you to sisters Edith and Margot Regalado for helping me on the album,’ said Herbert C. ‘It will help people remember me for my music and not for what got me into prison.’
