Music and more

- Robbie Pangilinan - The Philippine Star

More than being a sold-out show that treated guests to good food and great music, the dinner concert A Love to Last a Lifetime, held last Aug. 23 at the Unilab Bayanihan Center, presented an opportunity to reach out to victims of Typhoon Yolanda and help build new homes for them.

Credit goes to multi-awarded singer-composer Jose Mari Chan, comedian Ate Gay and Baihana, who rendered crowd-pleasing numbers which entertained the well-heeled audience that included Pel Tecson, mayor of Tanauan, Leyte.

“The proceeds (of the concert) will be used to purchase wood to rebuild the houses of our constituents,” he said.

A total of 500 Tanauan families whose homes were destroyed by Yolanda will stand to benefit from the show.

The concert is also a celebration of Outbox Media Production Agency’s eighth anniversary.

“Passion. Dedication. Diversity. Through the years, these three words continue to sum up what our team is committed to. And this concert is another proof of that. It was a night of great music, delicious food, and a good cause,” said Outbox Media’s Rossel Taberna.

Also spotted in the audience of 530 music lovers were Rep. Roman Romulo and wife Shalani Soledad, Rep. Alfred Vargas, TV host Gerry Baja and Philippine Red Cross secretary general Gwen Pang.

The concert was sponsored by Foton Motors Philippines, RRJ, Petrol, Water Front Hotels and Casino, CEU Alumni Foundation, Inc., Bounty Fresh Chicken, Unilab, Sogo Chain of Hotels, RC Cola, ARC, Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center, Uratex, Ferna, Smart Shots, VS & F and Company, The BLounge Salon and Tunying’s Bread.
