Salomon Phl’s X-Trail Run for 2014

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The world’s leading trail running shoe gets ready for this year’s leg of its highly-anticipated trail running event in the region.

Salomon holds another round of its long-running X-Trail Run, which is scheduled to happen in key countries and cities in the region namely, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and the Philippines.

The Global “X-Trail” branding is categorized as a technical trail running race, with a mix of different terrain surfaces. The most recent Salomon Pilipinas X-Trail Run was held at Tagaytay Highlands and Hamilo Coast, registered the most number of short-distance trail runners at 1,000 plus.

This year, the brand is going back to Hamilo Coast, which is famed for its trails, vertical ascents and steep descents. X-Trail Run will be offering three distances — 6K road to trail, 12K road to trail and the much-anticipated 24K and 32K mountain run. These are perfect for all types of trail runners and outdoor enthusiasts who want to test their skill and endurance.

The mountain run is a distance catered to experienced runners. This year, there will be two distances for this category: 24K and 32K. It’s named as mountain run due to the steep ascents and descents, which simulate sky running — something which Salomon is known to excel in. The Salomon Xtrail Run Philippines 2014 Race is a green run. No disposables will be provided at the hydration stations. All participants must bring their own provisions.
