Kaye Abad ‘happy’ about career, love life

MANILA, Philippines – Kaye Abad is happy that she gets to experience doing a kontrabida role in her current show “Annaliza.”

In the show, she plays the role of Stella, the step mother of Annaliza (Andrea Brillantes) who maltreats her.

“Masaya naman kasi something different sa tagal-tagal nang pinaggagagawa ko na ako yung inaapi,” she said in a recent interview.

But she later admits a downside to the role.

“Nakakapagod siya. Sabi ko nga, mas nakakapagod magkontra bida kaysa umiyak. Kasi iba yung tension sa katawan mo, kapag galit ka gigil lahat sa katawan mo, e,” Kaye explained.

“Okay naman, masaya naman siya kasi challenge para sa akin bilang hindi naman talaga masungit ang features ko,” she added.

Aside from a happy career, Kaye is happy with her longtime boyfriend Guji Lorenzana. They are one of the showbiz couples who keep it low when it comes to their relationship.

But during the interview, the entertainment press were intrigued with Kaye’s reaction as her co-star Valerie Concepcion relates how she wanted to enjoy her single life first and get to know more people.

When asked why she affirms with Valerie’s answers she replied, “tama kasi yung sinasabi niya, e.”

She then explained her answer: “Yung iba kasi parang hindi nila kaya na mag-isa, gusto nila kapag may nawala may kapalit agad. Tama yun, e, you enjoy, ganyan.”

But she also admitted that she’s not the type who will go out on a number of dates and decide who will have her sweet “yes.”

“Kasi akala ko nun, nasa stage ako na kung mag-boyfriend ako gusto ko yung forever na,” she recalls. “Though tama naman, masyado akong naging istrikto, hindi ko na-enjoy yung de-date lang.

“So kapag may nanligaw, punta sa bahay, kapag ayaw ko, ayaw agad. So never akong dumaan sa getting to know each other stage. Kaya yung nagiging boyfriend ko kaibigan ko muna bago nagkaka-developan.”

This same thing happened between her and Guji, which is an advantage for Kaye because they know and are comfortable with each other, which is a factor for their happy relationship.
