Tween Hearts bids farewell on June 10

The Philippine Star

Manila, Philippines -  After a total of 86 successful episodes aired during its run on GMA every Sunday afternoon, Reel Love presents Tween Hearts, bids farewell to its viewers with an emotional but heartwarming finale episode on June 10.

Originally slated to air for just eight episodes, the program, which launched the careers of the network’s Tween stars, was awarded several extensions after its victory on the ratings game. It remains the No. 1 and most preferred youth-oriented drama among viewers.

At present, the program continues to claim leadership in its timeslot according to data from the more widely recognized industry ratings supplier Nielsen TV Audience Measurement. Based on average households data in Urban Luzon covering the period Feb. 19 to May 27 (based on overnight data), Tween Hearts registered 31.3 share points versus ABS-CBN’s Luv U’s 27.3 share points. The program continued its winning streak in Mega Manila, which now comprises 59 percent of total television households nationwide, after it garnered 31.7 share points against the 24.7 points of the Kapamilya show.

Aside from its high ratings performance, the show also catapulted the Tweens into stardom, with their fan base and widespread popularity stretching all over the country and at the same time, around the world.  The Tweens headlined by Barbie Forteza and Joshua Dionisio, Bea Binene and Jake Vargas together with Joyce Ching, Kristoffer Martin, Derek Monasterio, Kylie Padilla, Yassi Pressman, Ken Chan, Teejay Marquez, Kim Komatsu, Kiko Estrada, Hiro Magalona, Rhen Escaño, Therese Conde, Gabby Garcia and Louise De Los Reyes, Lexi Fernandez  have transformed into seasoned actors and are all set to showcase their talent in new projects.

The Tweens’ fame skyrocketed among teens who mostly make up the vast majority of their followers. They have continued to inspire their built-in audience and become role models for the younger generation in achieving their personal aspirations and goals. The Tweens educated their followers — through the program’s dramatic episodes and storytelling — the importance of education and family ties as well as life’s priceless values like respect, honesty and love.

From first love to first heartbreak, from fitting in to peer pressure, from bullying to how broken marriage that affect teens, Tween Hearts’ universal theme for all ages transcended into tackling more complicated issues, complex character dynamics and exciting tandems that charmed the Filipino viewers.
