Volleyball to kick off CESAFI other events today

CEBU, Philippines - The other events of ther 15th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. season officially kick off with the volleyball tournament today at the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Basak Campus gym.

Games under the secondary division will be played first, with girls defending champion University of San Carlos taking on Southwestern University at 1 p.m. followed by the match between Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu and Cebu Eastern College.

In the boys class, USJ-R will tackle Don Bosco Technology Center, while defending champion USC will mix it up with University of Southern Philippines Foundation.

The semifinal round is already set for August 29 in time for the start of college play.

Beach volleyball will be played after the indoor volleyball finale on October 11.

Football and athletics, on the other hand, will get underway this Saturday at the Cebu City Sports Center, karatedo at USJ-R Basak and taekwondo at Pacific Mall in Mandaue.

Badminton will commence on August 29 at MetroSports in Lahug,  chess on September 5-6  at USJ-R Basak, dancesport at Waterfront-Cebu City Hotel and Casino in Lahug on September 19, tennis at Citigreen and table tennis at SHS-AdC in Mandaue on September 5, swimming on September 3 at CCSC and scrabble on September 19 at the University of the Visayas (UV) main campus.
