Cabadiangan dominates Compostela hoopfest

CEBU, Philippines - The Cabadiangan hoopsters bannered by ex-pros Bruce Dacia and Marlon Basco nosed out the Ave Maria Sanctuary Park-USJR Xmen 2, 104-93, to win the Basak, Compostela basketball crown the other day.

Dacia, who was unstoppable with his powerful moves at the shaded lane, amassed 33 points, while Basco, dominant as ever at the post, scattered 26 markers.

Dazzling playmaker Eliud Poligrates chipped in 21 points for Cabadiangan, which allowed Xmen 2 to lead only once, 20-25, early in the first period.

Cadiangan went home with P8,000 for the feat.

Frangel Omolon paced Xmen 2 with 15 points, while commercial veterans Danilo Aying and Aldrin Ocañada added 13 points apiece. They settled for the P5,000 first runner-up prize.
