Warriors draw first blood in FYA 1st Coach Rady cage final

CEBU - The Warriors defeated Golden Eye, 89-79, to move within a win away from the clinching the crown of the F. Llamas Youth Association (FYA) 1st Coach Rady Cup basketball tournament at the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial gym in barangay Punta Princesa, this city.

 The Warriors can wrap up the championship with another win in Game 2 this Thursday but they should expect one big war again Golden Eye, which is seeking payback to forge a rubbermatch.

Dondon Cadungog topscored for the Warriors with 23 points, while Chissar Llegunas and Dominic Enriquez chipped in 16 and 14 points, respectively.

Medalle and two other teammates had 10 points each for the Golden Eye but it was Toper Rama who led their offense with 20 points. The Golden Eye suffered from few points deduction for reporting into the venue with lack of players.

On the other hand, Tata Laborte hauled 33 points and Baeng Medalle added 18 at the Viking Haulers escaped with a 96-93 victory over the Lakers to lift the third place trophy.

Wendell Rollon topped the Lakers with 28 points.

The games were graced by Punta Princesa Brgy. Capt. Rolly Diorico, councilor Bugoy Atillo and event sponsor Rady Abarintos.
