Ouano turns over projects to 3 barangay beneficiaries

MANILA, Philippines — Close to P50 million worth of infrastructure projects have been turned over to three barangay in Mandaue City.

A P20-million multipurpose building with covered court was turned over by Mandaue City Lone District Rep. Emmarie Ouano-Dizon to the officials of barangay Subangdaku.

Dizon facilitated the project which was implemented in two phases. The first phase was realized in 2021 in the amount of P10 million while the second phase was in 2023 with another P10 million budget.

Dizon said the project serves as ideal venue for gatherings and events, including sports games, barangay meetings, and medical outreach.

Barangay Bakilid also received a P14.5 million worth of 3-storey multi-purpose building. This infrastructure project will be utilized as a new barangay hall, which also serves as a local community center, often providing space for both permanent and temporary services and events. It may accommodate an office space for the tanods and the barangay health workers as well.

“Kining multipurpose building sa Bakilid gihimo nato ni aron mohayahay ang ilang pagkabutang sa activities sa opisina sa barangay compared to the old barangay hall building aron mas daghan pa ang ilang ma-serbisyuhan nga taga barangay,” Dizon said.

Barangay Bakilid Captain Roy Lumapas said the building will enhance the services of the barangay.

A P13.5-million three-storey multi-purpose building was also turned over to Barangay Cubacub.

According to Dizon, the building will be utilized temporarily by the Cubacub High School. The project stands to benefit hundreds of junior and senior high school students in the said barangay.

“Akong tuyo nga we want to contribute in the realization of each students’ full potential mao nga atong gipaningkamutan nga matukod kining maong multi-purpose buildings which would serve as a venue for both recreational and school activities,” the congresswoman said.

The turnover ceremony was attended by Mandaue City District Engineer Gomer Castillo, Mandaue City Councilors Anjong Ouano Icalina, Nerissa Soon Ruiz, Cesar Cabahug, and the officials of the three barangays. (CEBU NEWS)
