‘Ex-con’ yields P0.5M drugs

CEBU, Philippines — An alleged ex-convict was arrested during a buy-bust operation Saturday dawn, yielding to authorities 10 packs of suspected shabu weighing 75 grams and worth more than P500,000.

The Provincial Intelligence Unit and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Cebu Police Provincial Office identified him as Ricardo Montebon Certifico, 39, of Brgy. Mohon, Sogod, Cebu.

The police conducted the buy-bust operation at 2 a.m. in Mohon following reports of Certifico’s alleged illegal drugs activity in his neighborhood.

He would be criminally charged for violating Sections 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Article 2 of Republic Act 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). — (FREEMAN)
