Man arrested in Bohol due to gun repair operation
CEBU, Philippines — A man who allegedly repairs guns of individuals engaged in gun-for-hire activities has been arrested in Carmen City, Bohol past 8 a.m. on November 3, 2023.
A certain “Danny,” 47 years old, a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Villaflor, Carmen City, was arrested when the Provincial Mobile Force Company and the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Bohol Police Provincial Office served him a search warrant, which yielded various calibers of weapons.
Judge Jorge Espinal of the Regional Trial Court, 7th Judicial Region, Branch 51, Carmen, Bohol issued the search warrant on October 27, 2023.
The police operation resulted in the confiscation of a 9mm sub-machine gun and one bullet and magazine; caliber .38 revolver; shotgun ammunition; and ammunition for .45 caliber, 30 caliber, .38 caliber and others.
Prior the arrest, the police placed Danny under intelligence monitoring due to his alleged business of repairing weapons of individuals or groups operating gun-for-hire activities.
Bohol police have intensified their investigation to identify the owners of the confiscated firearms.
A ballistic examination will also be conducted to verify if the weapons were used in past shooting incidents in the province. — (FREEMAN)
