In Kalunasan and Mambaling: 2 Killed in separate shootings

CEBU, Philippines — Two separate fatal shooting incidents were recorded in different barangays in Cebu City on Oct 31 and Nov 1, 2023.

At 6:35 in the evening on Tuesday, a shooting incident was reported in Unit 3, OPRRA, Barangay Kalunasan.

The victim was later identified as Paul Jacob Calo Ebrada, also a resident of the area.

According to Police Lt. Col. Janette Rafter, Deputy City Director for Operations and spokesperson of the Cebu City Police Office, based on the information they received, Ebrada was recently released from prison after being jailed due to his involvement in illegal activities.

“We are still conducting more information gathering kay ang suspetsado nailhan man gyud nato, naay CCTV," said Rafter.

Meanwhile, around 9 a.m. yesterday, another man was shot dead in Sitio Puntod, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.

Residents from the area identified the victim as Jaggy Dave Sembrante.

While the victim was sitting on the side of the road, a man riding a black motorcycle wearing a mask, helmet, and long sleeves shot the victim.

Sembrante, who was hit in the neck, reportedly was still able to run and board an e-bike but died later. ATO (FREEMAN)
