Robber takes P7T using a toy gun

CEBU, Philippines — Using a replica of a .45 pistol, a man was able to rob a pharmacy past 2 p.m. last Friday in Barangay Poblacion Ward 1, Minglanilla, Cebu.

Based on the statement of victim Janice Cueva Fernandez, 40 years old, a resident of Barangay Cadulawan in the same town, and who is officer-in-charge of Three Sixty Pharmacy, she and two other staff were just seated in front of the counter, when the lone robber went in and pretended to be a customer.

The suspect, who was wearing a white and green dri-fit long sleeve, a black helmet with a logo of a motorcycle brand, black jogging pants and sandals, was inquiring about a certain medicine.

Not long after, he took out a replica of the .45 pistol and pointed it at the victim and demanded cash.

Out of fear, the victim obeyed and handed over about P7,000.  The suspect immediately fled on a motorcycle.

The police recovered a replica of a black caliber .45 pistol with a magazine from the crime scene.

Meanwhile, a motorcycle buy and sell businessman was shot dead in his home at Purok 2, Barangay San Miguel, Cordova City past 9 p.m. last Friday.

The victim was identified as Glecerio Andales Untal Jr., 42 years old, married.

Initial investigation of the Cordova Municipal Police Station revealed that the nephew of the victim, along with his brother and father, who lived nearby, heard two gunshots not far from the victim’s house.

When they went out to check, they reportedly did not notice anything unusual.

But a couple of hours later when the victim’s child arrived home from practicing for a festival, they later found the victim lying on the floor with his head bleeding and a gunshot wound to the chest.

The victim was taken to the Cordova Rural Health Unit but was pronounced dead.

Members of the scene of the crime operations recovered a fired cartridge case and a deformed bullet slug of .45mm at the crime scene.

The police are still following up to resolve the two separate crimes.  — (FREEMAN)
