Advice prompts man to beat brother dead

CEBU, Philippines – A younger brother's concern for his older sibling has caused his life after the latter got irked by his unsolicited advice.

The incident happened Saturday morning in Sitio Dakit, Poblacion, Pinamungajan.

Arnoldo Ferrer, 25, visited his older brother, Gerald, to counsel him on his domestic problem. Gerald, 36, was left alone by his wife and children last year because of his violent tendencies. In fact, he had been jailed before because of domestic violence.

Police Officer 3 Delbert Barrera said the victim reportedly gave his unsolicited advice to his older brother. However, the suspect got irked and mauled his brother to death.

The victim was declared dead on arrival at Pinamungajan District Hospital because of broken neck.

"Duda ko sir nagtama, usab-usab ang utok, ang tripping shadow fight. Magsigi lang na'g yaw-yaw tripping UFC sigig pangarati, napriso na siya sa una panukmagon man ang kauban," Barrera said.

Barrera said they are preparing the complaint for murder against Gerald but the decision will depend on the members of the family. —/FPL (FREEMAN)
