4 fall, P400T worth of shabu seized in Danao drug bust

CEBU, Philippines - Four men were arrested and nearly P400,000 worth of suspected shabu were confiscated in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion, Danao City on Wednesday.           

Arrested were Richie Tan, 35; Daryl Prieto, 37; Denver De La Rama, 31; and Avelino Landero, 23.

The operation was conducted by elements of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (CAIDSOTG) of Danao City Police Station.

At around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, the police accosted Tan as soon as he received the buy-bust money from the poseur-buyer in exchange for a pack of shabu worth P200.

Prieto, De La Rama, and Landero, who were seen inside Tan’s house, were also placed under arrest.

The police frisked Tan and confiscated from him nine more sachets of suspected shabu and another medium-size pack of the same substance.

Three packs of shabu were also reportedly recovered each from Prieto and De La Rama and two packs from Landero.

The confiscated drugs weighed at least 32.04 grams and were estimated to be worth P378,000 based on Dangerous Drugs Board’s value.

The buy-bust operation took place some three hours after the Provincial Intelligence Branch and the PAIDSTOG arrested eight persons and seized over P300,000 worth of shabu in Barangay Looc, also in Danao City.  (FREEMAN)
