Woman killed, buried under own bed
CEBU, Philippines- A 27-year-old woman was found buried in concrete under her own bed at her house in the southern town of Alcoy.
PO1 Juanito Asenjo of the Alcoy Police said authorities went to the woman’s house in Barangay Pugalo last Saturday morning after an officer of the village reported the foul smell that emanated from the house.
The odor led them to the victim’s room where they found a portion of the floor under the bed covered in concrete. The concreted portion reportedly looked new and when they dug it up, they found the dead body of Ma. Lovely Fajardo. They also found a 15-inch knife buried with her and authorities said it might have been the weapon used to kill her.
Asenjo said the body was buried approximately three feet to the ground but was not covered properly, which explained the crack on the concrete.
According to the victim’s neighbors, the house is owned by Fajardo’s live-in partner, Ernesto Gamboa. Both are natives of Dalaguete town, which is located next to Alcoy, but reportedly moved to Alcoy about a month ago.
The neighbors said the last time they saw Gamboa, a habal-habal driver, was last week.
Alcoy Police went to Gamboa’s house in Dalaguete but did not find him there. Investigation is ongoing to determine the motive of the crime and the possible suspect. (FREEMAN)
