Slippery road kills 1, injures 2

CEBU, Philippines - One died and two minors were figured in a vehicular accident due to slippery road in the towns of Argao and Dalaguete.

A 35-year-old man died while traveling along the national highway of Sitio Tikoy, Barangay Bogo, Argao yesterday dawn.

Regino Albiso Jr., 35, of Barangay Mompiller, was on board his red-colored Yamaha motorcycle bearing plate number GR 4061 when the incident happened.

Albiso was reportedly traveling from Barangay Talaga bound for Barangay Bogo at that time.

PO2 Renato Nacaytona, desk officer of the Argao Police Station, said that Albiso lost control of the motorcycle due to slippery road. Albiso fell off the motorcycle and slumped on the road causing him injuries in different parts of his body.

Albiso did not wear any protective head gear.

He was rushed to the Isidro Kintanar Memorial Hospital in Argao but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Meanwhile, two minors were injured when the assembled motorcycle they were riding slumped on the national highway of Barangay Casay, Dalaguete last Saturday evening.

Injured were Christian Zambrano, 17, of the said place and his back rider, Claire Villahermosa, 12, of Barangay Cawayan. They were taken to the Julio Cardinal Rosales Memorial Hospital in Dalaguete due to injuries.

Villahermosa was taken to a hospital in Cebu City for further medical treatment.

Both were on board an assembled or improvised motorcycle without plate number bound for Barangay Casay when Zambrano lost control due to slippery road. They were seen by a motorist who rescued them.

Police found out that aside of not wearing helmets, Zambrano did not have a driver’s license.  (FREEMAN)
