Rama disappointed on Guardo posters

Jessica Ann R. Pareja -

CEBU, Philippines -  Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama reminded his partymates on his position about the illegal posting of campaign materials along major roads in Cebu City.

He said he has ordered the concerned members to remove the posters and postpone its proliferation until the campaign period.

Rama said that if their supporters cannot be stopped, he asked his partymates to remind them to at least spare the main road.

“I am not happy with it because it makes the road dirty,” Rama said.

He clarified that he, as the leader of Team Rama, did not order the proliferation of campaign posters and streamers because he believes that there is a right time for it.

Someone has called the attention of the mayor that posters of Team Rama candidate for councilor, Sambag I Captain Jerry Guardo, have started proliferating in the city streets.

He said he has also seen it himself and was disappointed.

There are also other posters and streamers of the mayor and his runningmate, councilor Edgardo Labella, in other conspicuous areas around the city. Rama said he wants it also removed.

The mayor appealed to his members to wait for the campaign period.

Billboard-type campaign streamers will be dealt with by the proper office.

Rama said he will have someone study the ordinance that governs the putting of billboard and penalize anyone who will be deemed violators.

“The public must know who continues to defy the ordinance and decide whether they should vote for these people,” Rama said.  (FREEMAN)
