Woman found with 11 stab wounds

- Ria Mae Y. Booc -

CEBU, Philippines - A woman was found dead with 11 stab wounds in a bushy area in Sitio Cabangkalan, Barangay Dakit, Bogo City last Saturday afternoon, but no one could identify the body as of yesterday.

Dr. Edgar Espinosa, municipal health officer of the neighboring San Remigio, said the stab wounds on the woman’s abdomen and right breast caused her death. The contusions on her left eyebrow and lower lip might have been caused by a hard object. There are, however, no sign that she was abused sexually.

PO3 Allan Dosdos, Bogo City police investigator, said three children who were playing at a mango tree near the area were the ones who found the body about 2pm last Saturday. One of them even thought the woman was simply drunk and went unconscious so she ran to her house to inform her parents.

It was the child’s father who realized that the woman was not drunk and was actually dead. He then called the police station to report the matter.

The woman is estimated to be 40 to 50 years old, stands 5’2”feet tall, and was wearing black pants marked Next and a black and white blouse marked Calypso.

No evidence was recovered from the scene but Dosdos said that based on the victim’s wounds, the suspect possibly used a Swiss knife in killing her.

“Even a single centavo or ID wala gyud mi nakit-an di pud mahitabo nga wa’y kwarta kay sa pamarog lang naay kaya,” Dosdos told The FREEMAN in a phone interview.

Dosdos said he is coordinating with all barangay officials in the city to identify the woman. He suspects that the woman is not a resident of the area.

“Possible man gud ni nga gidala ra ni siya ngari ug taga-nganhi gyud una siya gipatay,” he said. — (FREEMAN)
