Man shoots younger brother

CEBU, Philippines - A man shot his drunk younger brother, who allegedly gets rowdy every time he takes in intoxicating drinks in Sitio Itom Yuta, Barangay Lorega-San Miguel, Cebu City yesterday morning.

Librando Lambo, 41, sustained a single gunshot wound to the left side of his body. The bullet exited through his stomach.

The suspect, no less than his elder brother, Leonardo Lambo, Jr., 45, quickly fled after the shooting but was later arrested by responding police officers at the house of his neighbor.

PO3 Wetzel Berry of the Homicide Section said the two figured into a verbal tussle around 9 a.m. yesterday after their drinking session.

Instead of going to sleep, Librando allegedly got rowdy, which allegedly usually happens when he gets drunk. He allegedly started punching and kicking Leonardo, who was prompted to take a gun and shoot him.

The victim’s 16-year-old son pacified the two and rushed his father to the hospital where he underwent surgical operation.

Responding personnel of the Mobile Patrol Group tried to arrest the suspect but failed.

Later on, Homicide Section investigators conducted a follow-up and arrested the suspect at the house of a neighbor.

The suspect is now detained and will be facing charges for frustrated homicide, Berry said. — (FREEMAN)
