Outgoing chief of PAF 2nd Division honored

- Gabriel Bonjoc -

CEBU, Philippines - The outgoing commander of 2nd Air Division of Philippine Airforce was given honor before he will be saying goodbye to his colleagues and men.

Maj. Gen. Nathaniel Legaspi, is the last member of Philippine Military Academy batch 1976 who will retire from service.

He was given testimonial and review parade headed by Central Command commander, Lt. General Ralph Villanueva.

Legaspi said he is deeply honored that he was given a rare kind of program, adding not all officials are given testimonial and review.

The outgoing official also expressed his gratitude to all his men and colleagues who have given him support during his stint as the PAF’s 2nd Air Division commander.

After retiring from service, Legaspi said that he will be spending time with his family.

Legaspi was the head officer of Villanueva during their PMA years. But this scenario did not even affect the operation in the Central Command, said Villanueva.

The CentCom commander, in an interview, said he is so proud of Legaspi as his upper class officer.

Villanueva added he is the one who salutes Legaspi whenever they meet in the headquarters. He even addresses Legaspi as “sir.”

However, no names yet have been circulated in the headquarters who will be taking the post of Legaspi.

Legaspi said he could not tell what would be his advice to the new commander of 2nd Air Division because he did not know yet who will replace him.

He said the equipment and performance of the 2nd Air Division is already good but it’s up to the new commander to improve them further. — THE FREEMAN
