Dairy cooperative not endorsing bets
CEBU, Philippines - The chairman of Cebu Federation of Dairy Cooperatives clarified to The FREEMAN yesterday that although they respect Coop-NATCCO’s endorsement of gubernatorial candidate Hilario Davide III and runningmate Gregorio Sanchez, their cooperative is not endorsing anyone.
Joseph Durado said as an affiliate of Coop-NATCCO, they are respecting its decision but they are not endorsing anyone in the gubernatorial race.
He added that the present provincial administration and Davide have been friendly to their cooperative that is why they are not endorsing any of the two.
In a press conference last Monday, Coop-NATCCO declared its support to Davide and Sanchez.
“We consider Jun-Jun Davide as a person who has strong credibility, integrity and also honesty,” said Cresente Paez, the party-list’s representative for the Visayas.
Paez also said that he is 100 percent sure that members of the Coop-NATCCO would support their endorsement.
Coop-NATCCO has been a non-partisan partylist group since it was first elected in 1998 election. It is only now that the partylist group is endorsing candidates.
The partylist group is endorsing Liberal Party standard bearer Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III and vice presidential candidate Manuel “Mar” Roxas.
The group is also backing Cebuano senatorial candidates Sergio Osmeña III, Emilio Mario Osmeña and Regalado Maambong. (FREEMAN NEWS)
