Jagmoc admits he was topic of affair rumors

CEBU, Philippines – Cebu City North Councilor Edwin Jagmoc has came forward to admit that he was the one alluded to by rumors of an extramarital affair. But he also denied there was a grain of truth to the story.

Jagmoc yesterday made his statement among City Hall reporters with wife Gina by his side.

“Mitingog na lang ko kay nalouy ko sa akong mga kaubang konsehal, wala may laing konsehal nga ang asawa naa pod nag-work sa City Hall,” Jagmoc said.

Gina is working at the Department of Engineering and Public Works.

Jagmoc denied having an affair with Misty Majistrado, currently the development administration officer of City Planning and Development Office.

He said he and Majistrado are just seen always together because of their efforts under the Solid Waste Management Board.

Their closeness reached the ears of his wife whom he said started to get jealous and suspicious.

“Yes didto gyud mi sa iyang boarding house but wala ‘tong nasakpan, we were just there, both of us went together and confronted the issue,” Jagmoc said.

Gina said it was not true that she made a scene by throwing a pail at Jagmoc.

“Didto mi, gistoryahan gyud nako ang babaye ug naklaro nako nga wala na, this happened three months ago and wa ko mag-expect nga manggawas pa ni,” Gina said.

She said since then she and Misty have become close.

“I don’t know if kinsa ang victim ani, feel nako nga ako ang victim yet I have to say sorry kay naduhig akoa mga kauban, ako na ni itugyan ang tanan sa Ginoo,” Jagmoc said.

He does not neglect the possibility that the talks may be politically motivated.

Majistrado for her part said she was already at peace after the confrontation three months ago.

She also said she had been crying for two days.

“Dili gyud mi mahimo nga mahunong og close kay daghan kaayo mi mga activities on work,” Majistrado said.

She said her conscience is clear and she has no reason to resign from her position.

Majistrado is a member of the Mayors Management Team, a group composed of college graduates who graduated with honors and assigned to different positions at the City Hall. — Ferliza C. Contratista/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
