Crips gang member falls for gun toting

-

CEBU, Philippines – A 19-year-old member of the Crips gang was arrested by members of the barangay police of Carreta following a shooting alarm in the barangay the other day.

Paul Ian Del Anthony Camocamo, 19, a resident of sitio Bagumbuhay, Carreta is currently detained at the Waterfront Police Station. He was arrested for toting an unlicensed .38 revolver with six live ammunitions.

Danilo Sohayle, member of the Carreta police, said they received information that a certain Alfredo Tobias, a resident of Bagumbuhay, fired his gun indiscriminately towards a group of youngster believed to be members of Crips’ rival group Bloods.

Tobias’ son, a member of Crips, was reportedly killed last year by members of Bloods.

Sohayle said that when they responded to the alarm, they chanced upon Camocamo who had a gun tucked in his waist. They placed Camocamo under arrest after the latter failed to present papers to support carrying the firearm.

Camocamo reportedly said he was bringing the gun after learning that Bloods members were also carrying firearms.

“Human mi nakadawat sa report nga nagpabuto si Fredo Tobias, pag-adto namo, among nasugatan si Camocamo…naka-imon ug nag-tak-in ug armas mao to nga among siya gisita" Sohayle said.

"Nagtuo man to si Camocamo nga dunay mga sakop sa bloods mao to nga nagdala pud siya ug armas , pero wala man gyud mga sakop sa bloods human nadakpan na si "Tupac" sa niaging simana" Sohayle said.

Last week, elements of Cebu City Police Office arrested three gang members for allegedly firing shots at a barangay hall in General Maxilom Extension, barangay Carreta, Cebu City.

Arrested were Raymund Barrientos alias “Tupak,” 19, his younger brother Rollin Barrientos, 18, and Roberto Ludong alias “Madmax,” all alleged members of Bloods gang and residents of T. Padilla Street.

The complainants were identified as barangay tanods Ricardo Libre and Allan Obiña and 24-year-old Peter John Lubon, a quarter master of Sulpicio Lines Inc. and resident of barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City. Lubon luckily survived the gunshot wound on his head after he was shot by Barrientos’ group.

Raymund alleged he only wanted to avenge his 17-year-old brother who was shot dead by Crips gang members last April 19 inside the Chinese Garden Cemetery.

Camocamo was formally charged for illegal possession of firearms before the city prosecutor’s office. – Ramil V. Ayuman /JMO (THE FREEMAN)
