Fire destroys house in barangay Kamagayan
CEBU – The firewalls around a lot prevented a fire from spreading from a house to a thickly-populated area of barangay Kamagayan shortly before noon yesterday.
The Cebu City Fire Department received the alarm at 11:35 a.m., but by the time they arrived at the area the residents had already extinguished the fire.
The fire hit the house of a certain Rogelio Garcia who was out drinking with friends nearby when it broke out.
Garcia said he shares his house with couple Angiero and Ina Tagalog.
Neighbors who saw the incident said they saw the fire start at the room of the couple and not at the dirty kitchen which was just in front.
Authorities have yet to estimate the damage caused by the fire that was allegedly brought about by faulty electric wiring.
Garcia said he is only a caretaker of the 60 square-meter lot owned by a certain Anita So. —Ferliza C. Contratista/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
