Man hacked by his brother in Tuburan

A 24-year-old man was reportedly hacked by his minor brother during a confrontation inside their house in barangay Apalan, Tuburan town Wednesday morning.

Initial investigation conducted by the Tuburan police disclosed that the suspect, a 15-year-old boy, arrived at their house from fishing and looked for his father.

The victim, Joseph Abayon, who was inside their house and was reportedly under the influence of liquor, got mad at the suspect and for an unknown reasons, kicked the left foot of his younger brother and destroyed their jar and kettle.

This irked his younger brother who immediately took a bolo and hacked his older brother in the back.

The victim was immediately rushed to Tuburan District Hospital while the suspect surrendered to the town police through the assistance of Apalan barangay councilman Ernido Gighe.

Responding policemen recovered from the crime scene the bolo used in the incident.

SPO3 Lino Delos Santos of the Tuburan Police Station said the victim is now in safe condition and was already released from the hospital while the suspect is now under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. - Norvie S. Misa/LPM
