P50T at stake in Danao City's Karansa Festival

-
A grand prize of P50,000 awaits the winner of the street dancing competition of Danao City's Karansa Festival, held in honor of the city's patron saint, Sto. Tomas de Villanueva, on September 17. Tourism Secretary Joseph Ace Durano will attend the annual Karansa Festival, which is basically meant as a thanksgiving celebration, the color and pomposity of which are also expected to draw thousands of local and foreign tourists.

Danao City Mayor Ramon "Nito" Durano III will also lead the celebrations, which will be highlighted with the street dancing competition among various high schools in Danao City, said Ricky Alvaro, information officer of Karansa Foundation Inc.

Alvaro said Cebu Mitsumi Inc. and Jollibee would also join the festivities as guest performers. Tourism Secretary Durano, a native of Danao City, has been supporting the yearly celebration of the Karansa Festival.
